Is There A Hulu App For Windows 7

american-dad-on-hulu

Every Windows fan knows how powerful Windows Media Player is, but it still can't be everything you want it to be in the age of media streaming. Switching from one viewer to another can get clunky. Hulu Desktop however is a rocking program that side-lines this.

No matter how you watch your Hulu shows – on your PC or streamed to your TV – Hulu Desktop can enhance how you watch them. It's fast and streamlines the viewing experience and one of its coolest features  allows for Windows Media Center remote control integration (you can watch from the couch without ever having to get up again).

Our guide will outline how to integrate Hulu Desktop into Windows 7.

Installing Hulu Desktop

Before you do anything, you first need to get a copy of Hulu Desktop. The software is available for free many places online. Also, before you run the software, make sure you have at least a two megabit per second internet connection, the latest version of Flash and a Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHZ processor minimum. Once downloaded, go ahead run the setup wizard.

Accessing Hulu Desktop

Once Hulu Desktop is installed, start Windows Media Center. You will now see a Hulu section at the top of your available options.

To access your queue of shows, click on "Hulu" and a Hulu Desktop icon will appear. Click the icon once, and Windows Media Center will automatically close with Hulu Desktop opening in full screen.

From here, you can scroll through your shows and watch them at your leisure.

Customize your preferences

Another thing you can do to make Hulu Desktop run smoothly is to adjust the preferences. To access the Preferencesmenu in Hulu, right-click anywhere on the the window and select "Hulu Desktop Preferences." A user-friendly scrollable Prefernces menu will appear.

Here you can change several aspects of the program, including turning on closed-captioning, indicating if it starts automatically with Windows and which videos in your queue will begin to play once you start the program. Once you're done, close the window and you'll be brought back to Windows Media Center.

Other integrated programs to consider

Many other media sites are following in Hulu's footsteps, including Nexflix and YouTube XL both offering apps and this of course is great news for consumers. Boxee is another company that offers a popular media integration app for Windows 7.

Media integration is here to stay, and the existence of Hulu Desktop is proof in the pudding. From making the entire viewing experience faster and a lot less complicated, it can't be beat. To download Hulu Desktop, click here, and for the exact system requirements for running Hulu Desktop, visit Hulu.

Try Hulu Desktop.
